Prior to November 29th, 2000, the Canada South Blues Society was comprised of a group of volunteers concentrating their efforts on the summertime Blues Fest held annually in Windsor’s downtown.

That date marked the official start of our status as a non profit corporation.

The love of the blues led us to create the Canada South Blues Museum with Johnnie Johnson becoming the inaugural inductee. Once the museum was established at the Oasis bar inaugurations became part of the live performance of the evening.

Our ten year anniversary was special with the mayor declaring a Canada South Blues Museum week in response to our award from the International Blues Foundation.

The Historical Preservation Award was given in recognition of having the only live performance blues museum in the world as well as being the first blues society to receive the award.

Today the museum is waiting for a home. In the meantime we have begun a virtual version on our website and we continue to induct musicians during live shows.

Community involvement has and will continue to be one of our core values. Whether raising money for the less fortunate among us or helping aspiring musicians get a leg up we thank you for helping us achieve our goals.

Canada South Blues Society, where we strive to keep the blues alive.
