Eric Burdon

Inducted in: 2004-06-01

Burdon's life has been a musical journey matched by few others in rock history. From the driving force of the grittiest British invasion band to pioneering the San Francisco psychedelic scene to fronting WAR, the biggest funk band of the 1970's, to recording with blues great Jimmie Witherspoon, his place in rock history is without question

Eric Burdon and the Animals took the music world by storm with their classics House of the Rising Sun, Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood and the fiercely antiwar song Sky Pilot, (the first single released in stereo), Burdon and harp great Lee Oscar formed Eric Burdon and WAR whose debut album included the world wide hit Spill The Wine.

Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame in January of 1994, Eric Burdon certainly deserves his place in our Blues Museum.
